Students Assisting in Good Endeavors
About
S.A.G.E. (Students Assisting in Good Endeavors) is a campus organization Where Faith, Service, Leadership, Friendship, and Fun come Together! SAGE was established in 2000 at West Texas A&M University and is a faith-based community service organization.
SAGE is dedicated to serving Canyon, Amarillo, and West Texas A&M University. SAGE is split into four committees: Help a Child, Help the Elderly, Help a Local Charity, and Give Back to WT. Members plan and participate in a variety of service events throughout the fall and spring semesters. A few of our favorites include hosting fun events for children at the High Plains Children’s Home, planning our annual Dance Marathon for Children’s Miracle Network, cooking and serving a Thanksgiving Tuesday Dinner for students who cannot go home for Thanksgiving, partnering with the Texas Ramps project to build ramps for homebound elderly, and planning special events for residents in Canyon nursing homes.
Our goal is to use the talents and gifts of our members to glorify Christ in everything we do through faith, service, leadership, friendship, and fun! 1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
Faith is the reason why we serve. We serve with humility and love for others.
Service and being a light to others is our core purpose. In this organization, you will have the opportunity to work with members to plan service events that make a positive impact.
Leadership is encouraged and strengthened in S.A.G.E. We are motivated to achieve shared goals and to plan the best events possible to help the needs of others. If you are already a leader or you want to grow in confidence as a leader, come join us. The leaders in S.A.G.E have a vision for this organization that looks to the future and we are excited about Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.
Friendship is one of the sweetest joys of S.A.G.E. Lasting friendships are built through serving and having fun together. Christ-centered friendships build you up, edify you, and encourage you in your faith so you can be your best self.
Fun! We love fun! Whether it is our annual ski trip to Colorado or our annual Christmas party complete with caroling, or building a Homecoming float each year, we have fun and make lasting college memories.
